LRC58-02 Broadsword

The LRC design is from the naval architect, Dennis Harjamaa (www.artnautica.com). Artnautica Yacht Design also designed the XPM78 from Naval Yachts (Vanguard and Mobius).

The first LRC58 named Koti (Finnish for home) was built by the designer himself. Two LRC58’s are manufactured in New Zealand by Dickey Boats (www.dickeyboats.com) and two LRC58’s have been constructed in The Netherlands by Aluboot.

Five (four single-engine and one twin-engine) LRC58’s have been produced and have proven popular as an entry-level, rugged hull with extended range and kindly sea-keeping abilities.

The LRC58 design originated in 2013. It is a fuel-efficient passagemaker (5000 nautical miles @7 knots) and is designed to work well as a permanent live-aboard but will be equally suited to coastal cruising, crossing oceans, or drifting down inland waterways.

The LRC58 hull is very sleek with maximum waterline length. The interior volume is kept relatively small compared to the overall size. A low displacement to length ratio is crucial for effortless cruising speeds and low fuel consumption.
